Auto Glass Services in Miami Since 1947
Since most drivers don’t pay much attention to the windshield in their vehicle unless there is obvious damage, we thought passing along a few auto glass tips for every vehicle owner would be helpful. The auto glass and especially the windshield in your vehicle should be checked often to ensure it is not compromised in any way. Damaged auto glass will not withstand the pressure it will undergo in the unfortunate event of any accident. These tips should be performed on a regular basis to make sure the glass in your vehicle is safe:
- Check the entire windshield for any chips and cracks. Small chips and cracks if not directly in the driver’s line of vision may be repairable. Small rock chips (usually smaller than the size of a U.S. quarter) can typically be repaired. Larger rock chips and longer cracks will require a complete windshield replacement. If you notice any of these small rock chips in the glass give Charlie’s Auto Glass a call. We can quickly fix those little auto glass chips with our expert mobile windshield repair service to the entire greater Miami region, and all of South Florida.
- Be sure to check around the edges of the windshield for damage to the body of the vehicle. Any problem spots that affect the seal of the glass to the body will weaken the strength of the glass and should be repaired.
- Be sure to also check the windshield wiper blades to make sure they are soft and pliable. Rubber has a tendency to harden over time and become brittle. Windshield wiper blades will tear or break exposing the windshield to the metal wiper arm.
